P = Loan principal
r = Monthly interest rate in decimal form
n = Total number of monthly payments
For your current inputs:
Loan Amount: ₹5,00,000
Monthly Interest Rate: 0.8333%

Estimated Monthly EMI: ₹10,624
What Is EMI?
Hello! EMI stands for 'Equated Monthly Instalment'. When you take a loan from a bank or financial institution, you have to repay it within a fixed period. The fixed amount you pay every month is called an EMI. This instalment includes a portion of the principal amount and the interest.

EMI Calculation Formula
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ [(1 + r)n − 1]
- P (Principal): The total loan amount.
- r (Monthly Rate): The monthly interest rate in decimal form.
- n (Tenure): The total number of instalments in months.
To convert the annual interest rate into a monthly rate, divide the annual rate by 12 and then by 100. For example, if the annual interest rate is 12%, the monthly rate will be 0.01. Just as you can use our GST & Percentage Calculator to understand percentage calculations, this formula also works on the basis of mathematical accuracy.
How Do the Loan Amount, Interest Rate, and Tenure Affect Your EMI?
If you take a larger loan, your monthly instalment will also increase. Similarly, if the interest rate is higher, both your EMI and total interest will increase.
If you choose a longer loan tenure, your monthly EMI decreases because the amount is spread over more months. However, keep in mind that choosing a longer tenure means paying more interest overall. So, make the right decision when filling out your loan application. Just as you use our Sign PDF Online tool to sign your loan agreements or application forms digitally, or our Compress PDF tool to reduce their file size, it is equally sensible to enter different tenures and interest rates into this calculator and choose a plan that fits your budget.
Which Types of Loan EMIs Can You Calculate?
You can easily calculate the instalments for Personal Loans, Home Loans, Car Loans, and Education Loans using this calculator. You just need to enter the loan amount, interest rate, and tenure.
When submitting loan documents to a bank or preparing paperwork for a job or government scheme, you may often need our Age & DOB Calculator to check your age or our Passport Photo Maker to prepare an ID or passport-size photo. In the same way, checking your EMI with this tool before applying for a loan is very important. Some specific loans may also have additional conditions set by the bank, so make sure to review your bank's terms carefully.
